Also known as La La Librarian, I am passionate about curating and creating high-quality resources for children's librarians, early childhood educators, and caregivers. As a librarian, musician, and mom, I believe every child deserves access to early music, movement, and book experiences. Childhood is precious. Let's rock it!
About Me

I'm a musician, early literacy consultant, and the founder of Storytime Central, a curated professional development program for storytime professionals. In addition to an MLIS, I hold a BA in Theatre Education and a K–12 teaching certification. I've spent eighteen years in schools and public libraries and led over 1,800 storytimes & concerts.
My work focuses on the intersection where early literacy, music, and dramatic play meet. I've co-written three musicals for young audiences, adapted bestselling authors' books into songs and stage productions, and authored the professional resource book Move, Play, Learn: Interactive Storytimes with Music, Movement, and More (ALA Editions). My upcoming children's book, The Apple Song (F-Flat Books), brings one of my singable songs to life in picture book format!
I'm based in Birmingham, Alabama, where I live with my husband, two kiddos, three cats, two puppies, and a senior dog in her retired consultant era. It's a full house.
La La Librarian is named in honor of our beloved dog Luna, who passed away in 2025, affectionately called "La La" by my children. We wanted a name that felt easy to say, fun and musical, the perfect match for a singing librarian.

We believe that every child deserves access to high-quality music, movement, and book experiences. We aim to support caregivers and educators in the critical early years with joyful, intentional resources that help children grow and create lasting memories. Our focus is on fostering the precious bonds between children and their grown-ups, equitable access to rich early literacy experiences, cultural competence, and inclusive environments for all families.
